I'm part nomad. I was born in Libya when the country had a king. We lived in Germany for a while before settling in the UK just outside London.
I was given a plastic camera when I was little so naturally I went on to study photography. By the mid 1980`s I was freelancing in London.
I've always been drawn to the idea of journeys that head to distant horizons. So I packed a bag and set off on a long journey. In 2009 following a successful career in retail we moved to Melbourne. The land here is vast and the horizon infinite, a perfect place for a nomad to wander.
Photography - Plymouth College of Art & Design 1981-1984
The majority of my work is captured digitally. On occasion I may use film or indeed any other medium that suits. Quite a lot of work takes place following the image capture. For my work to be fully realized I need to control every aspect of production (where practical) including the printing and framing.
I've always been drawn to journey`s and moving through the land towards distant horizons. Nuances in a landscape attract me. Geography and history play an important part too. I like standing still and imagining the passing of time over the land.
